Web Design course
Aims of the Course
To enable students to design and build their own basic web site. Students are encouraged to apply any computing knowledge and experience that they might have as they work through the course material.
Course Content
The course is intended to:
Give you a basic understanding of web pages and how they link to form web sites.
Help you to understand the issues involved in publishing to the internet.
Give you a grounding in page layout using Dreamweaver and introduce some simple HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) coding.
Give you the skills to edit your template site and update your pages whenever you want.
Give you the skills to upload your site to your server.
Course duration / Structure of the course
Each Web Design course consists of :
20 lessons (= 15 hours) per week of specialised computer tuition (x 4 weeks).
projects, assignments, case studies, seminars, lectures and group sessions.

Entry Requirements
Please consult the Director of Studies for information regarding the course entry dates. The minimum age for entry to this course is eighteen. Furthermore, (except by special arrangement) an intermediate level of English is required for entry to the course. Students may be required to take an aptitude test (prior to arrival at ETC) to judge whether their standard of English is sufficient for this course. They may wish to follow a course of General English before beginning their Web Design course to ensure that they gain the maximum benefit from their studies.
Maximum Group Size
There is maximum group size of eight, in order to allow optimum interaction between group members and the teacher / lecturer. We also stipulate a minimum group size of three, so that the student may benefit from certain projects and class activities which require a high level of student input.
Assessment and Certification
If a student follows an ETC Web Design course, he or she will receive an ETC International College certificate on satisfactory completion of all coursework and assessment pieces. By prior arrangement with the Director of Studies, we will also supply periodic progress reports.
Effective teaching
Built into the course are the following important elements:

Tutorials.Homework.
Academic counselling.Supportive error correction and constructive feedback.
Testing and Progress Monitoring
There will be an initial needs analysis session for student-teacher orientation. There will subsequently be continuous assessment on performance and progress. Students will have the opportunity to discuss their progress with their tutor following each assessment. The Centre's academic staffwill be happy to provide any additional counselling that might be necessary.

Course fees:
Tuition fees - £550 (complete 4-week course – includes the cost of building your own simple 20 MB + website, hosted for one year).
