Sport

At ETC International College we organise a variety of sporting activities for our students.  These include sports such as football, basketball, volleyball, swimming, horseriding, tennis and golf.  You will find that our staff participate in some of the sporting activities giving you a great opportunity to socialise outside the college and practise your English language skills.

    

We can also arrange private lessons so that you can learn a new sport or improve your ability in a sport in which you already have some experience.  We would advise you to look at our English Plus courses which have been designed and costed to offer you the opportunity to follow one of our English language courses and enjoy learning a sport.

   

Bournemouth is a great town for students who want to participate in a sport such as golf, tennis, horseriding etc.  There are many clubs with very good facilities and Bournemouth is located close to a beautiful area of the country called the New Forest where you can find many riding stables offering horseriding classes.  Bournemouth is also a seaside town and can offer watersports such as windsurfing, scuba-diving and rowing.  For some of these sports you would need to take a course and organise your own insurance as they are considered to be high-risk activities.  We can advise you on the clubs that offer these sports but we do not organise these sporting activities through the college.

   

Obviously, the best time of year for some of these sporting activities is in the spring or summer as the weather is pleasant and the possibility of playing a round of golf or a game of tennis much better than in the winter.  Some clubs offer indoor facilites which are useful such as the tennis dome at the Bournemouth Tennis Centre or private clubs that offer indoor tennis courts, gymnasiums and swimming pools.  We can arrange for membership at one of these clubs and we will be happy to quote you their membership fees.
