The Business Language Testing Service (BULATS) is a language assessment service specifically for the use of companies and organisations. BULATS is for organisations which need a reliable way of assessing the language ability of groups of employees or trainees.
The service is designed to test the language of employees who need to use a foreign language in their work, and for students and employees on language courses or on professional/business courses where foreign language ability is an important element of the course.

When can the test be taken?
BULATS is an on demand exam so it can be taken at any time.
Where can it be taken?
ETC is an accredited Cambridge exam centre for BULATS so there is no need for the clients to go anywhere to take the test.
How is the BULATS exam taken?
BULATS is an online test that is taken at a computer. The test is adaptive and will come to an end when the candidate¹s maximum level of English has been determined.
Is it possible to fail the test?
No. The test is not orientated around "pass or fail". The BULATS test will asses the client¹s level of business English at the time of taking, not pass deliver a "pass or fail" verdict.
How much does the BULATS test cost?
The test costs around £40 per student and can be re-taken (at extra cost) as many times as the client requires.
