English for juniors:

Who is a junior?
Anyone travelling to ETC to study English who is 17 years old or younger is considered to be a Junior.

When can we take juniors at ETC?
ETC runs a junior programme in June, July and August. Outside of these times, we can still accept junior students providing we have other junior students at the college. To find out if we can accept junior students outside of the peak season please contact us.
 

What is included in ETC Junior programme?

Included in every junior programme are the following:

20 lessons (15 hours) of General English:
Lessons are usually run in the mornings from 09.00 to 12.30. If we are unable to offer this timing, we will ensure that we find an alternative in the afternoons.

Accommodation:
Accommodation in a shared room in a friendly host family that has been CRB checked on the police records database. All our famines are checked by us on a regular basis to make sure they are suitable for our junior students. We can also provide the following if required:
Single room accommodation: £10 supplement per week.
Special dietary supplement (no wheat, pork, gluten free etc): £20 per week

Transfer to and from a London airport:
Return transfer to and from Heathrow or Gatwick to Bournemouth and back. The transfer will run from the student’s accommodation or ETC and the airport. Please note that a waiting charge of £25 per hour is applicable at the airport to cover extra parking charges.

Door to Door transportation:
We collect our junior students before school every day and return them to their host families every afternoon after their activities have finished.

One full-day excursion per week:
One supervised full-day trip per week to a place of interest such as London, Oxford or Bath. The trip includes a guided walking tour and all transport.

Five activities in the afternoon:
In the afternoons, our junior students play sports or do activities. These can include, football, volleyball, quiz afternoon, treasure hunts or crazy sports.

Lunch at ETC Monday to Friday:
A hot meal every day with a piece of fruit and fruit juice.

Supervision:
Supervision at ETC by one of our ETC Activities organisers, an organiser will be present at all activities to ensure our junior students stay safe.
 

Also included in the cost are:

Identity card, academic counselling, and help accessing medical treatment if necessary, initial placement test and end of course certificate.

Where can I enrol my son/daughter?
If you complete the online enrolment form, we will get right back to you with the next stage of the booking process.

Can you arrange insurance for the period of my child’s stay?
No, we do not offer insurance for trips to the UK. We strongly recommend that you purchase the best and most comprehensive insurance policy appropriate to your needs before your child travels to the UK.

Can I reduce the cost of the junior programme by opting out of some elements?
No, unfortunately, we are unable to sell any elements of the programme separately. This is to ensure that we know where all our students are at all times.

I am happy for my child to walk to ETC and back every day, I do not require the door to door transportation element.
Unfortunately, we answer to various bodies in the UK who dictate the level of cover we provide to our students and we are unable to sell a junior course without door to door transportation.
