ETC International College

Welcome to the latest edition of the ETC newsletter! We hope that by occasionally sending you a short e-mail we will be able to tell you about the latest and most exciting developments here at the college and in Bournemouth itself.

As part of our ongoing expansion programme we are delighted to announce the purchase of a new building. At ETC we believe in keeping the college as centralised as possible and our recent on-site expansion has not only doubled our capacity (now approximately 365) and number of classrooms but has also enabled us to increase the size of our recreational area at the rear of the college. As a result we are now able to offer twenty-eight purpose built classrooms on the same site and an outdoor seating / teaching area twice the size of the original!

In line with the increased space at the school, the cafeteria has also expanded. We are now able to offer more seating both indoors and out and a new covered patio area for 60 people lets us enjoy “al fresco” dining for more of the summer.

Along with the physical expansion of the school we have increased the range of courses that we offer. Recently we have run courses as diverse as English for Military Purposes and English Plus Aromatherapy.

We are delighted to welcome a number of new staff members to ETC. The accommodation office has doubled in size to cater for the increased numbers of students at the school and we are also pleased to announce the arrival of several new teachers, each chosen for their proven track records and excellent skills in EFL teaching.

Bournemouth continues to be one of England’s top tourist destinations, with its seven miles of golden sandy beaches and endless choice of pubs, clubs and restaurants, there is something for everyone. The beach has been the subject of a regeneration programme and Europe’s first artificial reef, designed to increase the size of the surfable waves, will be under construction by the summer of 2007. A new shopping complex is also planned for the Boscombe area to complement the new reef.

In short, 2007 looks like being a bumper year, both for ETC and for Bournemouth!
